Record Explainer Videos with an Android Teleprompter
To record an explainer video with a teleprompter on Android, start with a short script, check camera and microphone permission, record a test take, and review the result before exporting. Explain Studio supports local recording, a teleprompter with optional on-device English voice follow, editing, and export. It does not generate AI assets inside the app.
Prepare a script for one clear message
Start with the question your viewer wants answered, then write an opening sentence, two or three useful points, and a closing action. Read the script aloud before recording: short sentences and natural pauses are easier to deliver than dense paragraphs.
Explain Studio can import a script or a production pack containing prepared material such as images, video, captions, and editing instructions. Creating AI illustrations or a script with another service is an external step, not an in-app AI generation feature.
If you plan to speak while showing materials, organize what you need before the take. The purpose of this preparation is to reduce interruptions, not to promise a built-in storyboard or automatic editing workflow.
Set up the camera, microphone and teleprompter
- Choose a quiet space, prepare your phone's camera framing, and read a short test sentence to check that your face and voice are clear.
- Open Explain Studio and import your script or prepared production pack, using the options available in your installed version.
- Allow camera and microphone permission if you want to record. If permission has been denied, Android's app-permission controls can be used to review it.
- Choose the teleprompter behavior that fits your take. Optional English voice follow uses an on-device speech model to advance the script as you speak.
- Record a brief test, review how naturally you can read while looking toward the camera, and adjust your pace before making a full take.
English voice follow is a specific supported feature, not a promise of multilingual speech tracking or cloud transcription. The app processes voice-follow audio locally and does not upload recordings to a developer speech server.
Review a take before you edit or export
After recording, listen for clarity, check whether your opening answers the promised question, and look for distracting long pauses. A concise video can be more useful than a longer one if it delivers the intended explanation.
Explain Studio keeps original takes while you edit and renders videos locally. Imported projects and rendered outputs remain in private app storage. Editing in the app is distinct from generating AI assets in an external service.
Before sharing an explainer that includes other people, consider whether you have appropriate permission to record and publish them. This applies especially to recordings that include children.
Export the video and the project deliberately
Explain Studio can export an edited video or project ZIP backup through Android's file picker. Choose the destination, then verify that the export is present and readable before treating it as a saved copy.
A destination can be local storage or a cloud provider. If you choose a cloud provider, that provider's storage and sharing practices apply. The app itself does not run a developer-operated upload server.
Project backups and video files serve different needs. A video is the shareable result; a project backup preserves material for future work. The app has no automatic cloud backup, and uninstalling or clearing storage removes local projects without deleting exports saved elsewhere.
A short recording checklist
- Write a one-sentence promise that accurately describes the video.
- Break the script into short, speakable phrases.
- Check camera framing, microphone input, and whether optional English voice follow suits the session.
- Record a test take, then review your opening and sound before finishing.
- Export the video and any project backup you need, inspect the destination, and keep track of copies you share.
This checklist is editorial guidance for a basic workflow. It does not guarantee any particular platform format, voice-follow accuracy, video codec, or output duration. See Explain Studio's current app page and privacy policy for supported behavior.
Questions and answers
Does Explain Studio need internet to record a video?
The current Android app records, performs English voice follow, edits, and renders locally without an internet permission. A separate file destination may have its own network behavior.
Does the teleprompter follow Hindi or other languages?
The documented on-device voice-follow feature is English. This guide does not claim recognition support for other languages.
Can Explain Studio generate AI images or clips for my project?
No. AI asset creation happens outside the app. Prepared images, videos and scripts can be imported.
What happens to my recordings if I uninstall?
Local projects and recordings in app storage are removed. Export the video or a project backup first, and manage those exported copies separately.
